Nick Bortot

Nick Bortot spoke at the iGaming Super Show as founder and CEO of BUX, the mobile trading app he launched in September 2014, which quickly passed 100,000 downloads. A former executive at BinckBank, he sat at the crossover point between financial trading and the gaming industry that the show was increasingly exploring through its Financial Partners Expo.

He appeared on that expo’s programme and on the IMGL Masterclass, where sessions such as “Gamification, Oddballs and Regulation” examined how consumer trading products borrowed from gaming design and how regulators were responding.

Bortot handed the BUX chief-executive role to Yorick Naeff in 2021 and remained a non-executive board member as the company was acquired by ABN AMRO in 2023. He is now active as an investor and fintech entrepreneur.
