Joseph Cuschieri

Joseph Cuschieri addressed the iGaming Super Show during his tenure as Executive Chairman of the Malta Gaming Authority. Malta was by then one of the industry’s most important licensing jurisdictions, and Cuschieri oversaw a period of significant reform, including the modernisation of the regulator and its rebranding from the Lotteries and Gaming Authority to the Malta Gaming Authority.

His appearance offered a regulator’s view of the market, addressing licensing standards, player protection and how a mature jurisdiction sought to keep pace with a fast-changing online sector.

Cuschieri later became CEO of the Malta Financial Services Authority, a post he resigned in 2020. He subsequently took on a government policy advisory role and became CEO of Project Green in Malta.
