Tom has several years experience as a lawyer in the gambling sector, which includes a secondment as in-house lawyer to a leading online operator. As such, he has a comprehensive understanding of the area, and the numerous product offerings contained within it.
Tom provides detailed advice on UK gambling regulation, and has obtained a number of operating licences for clients in the online and offline sector. Tom also specialises in worldwide jurisdictional issues in the gambling sector, including the multitude of legal aspects relating to the supply of betting and gaming services. As such, he has in particular advised a number of clients on the legal issues surrounding the European Union (and its member states) laws on gambling, and the complexities of the highly specialised Asian gambling market.
Tom also provides general commercial, contractual and regulatory legal advice to a number of leading betting and gaming companies. He has also provided regulatory assistance on large betting and gaming corporate transactions, including a number of AIM floats, the sale of Betclick to Mangas Capital and the acquisition by Playtech of certain affiliate businesses and the sale to William Hill in return for a stake in the enlarged William Hill Online business.
Tom is a regular contributor to the mainstream and trade gambling press, and a regular speaker at the major betting and gaming conferences.
