Stephen is a partner at DLA Piper, a major international law firm with over 75 offices, spread through 30 countries. He is based in London and is part of the firm's global betting and gaming practice. By background, Stephen is a commercial, regulatory and technology lawyer and nowadays focuses full time on advising the gambling industry. He acts for operators and suppliers alike by drafting, negotiating and advising on matters such as intellectual property, software licensing and development, white-label supply agreements and affiliate arrangements and advises on the regulatory aspects of corporate transactions and the corresponding issues affecting investors, lenders and intermediaries. Possibly the most important area of his work, currently, is guiding industry stakeholders (operators, software houses, banks, investors) through the impact the transition towards regulated markets has on their businesses.

Stephen is noted in legal directories as one of the leading individuals advising the sector and described in the Legal500 as "a real expert in the online gambling industry".  He is a General Member of the International Masters of Gaming Law.  On LinkedIn, he manages the Gambling UK Group, designed to focus on legal and regulatory developments in the UK gaming market.
